Mariam Kaynia is Chief Data and Information Officer (CDIO) at Eutelsat and a member of the Group’s Executive Committee. Eutelsat is a global satellite communications operator providing GEO and LEO connectivity solutions for telecom operators, enterprises, and governments worldwide. In her role, she oversees all business portfolio deliveries, operations and corporate tools, infrastructure and cloud, cyber security, data platforms and AI governance.
Mariam is a senior executive with deep experience in telecommunications and high-tech. Prior to Eutelsat, she held several executive roles at Telefonica Germany, leading various functions spanning from strategy and architecture to delivery and operations, as well as leading their company-wide digital transformation.
She has previously also worked as Associate Partner at McKinsey & Company, served as Professor in Electrical Engineering and was appointed expert reviewer for the European Commission. She was named among "Top 50 Women in Technology in Germany" by Handelsblatt in 2021.
Mariam holds a Ph.D. in Wireless Communications from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in affiliation with Stanford University, and 2 MSc. degrees in Electrical Engineering from University of Minnesota and NTNU.
