Dr. Yue Wang is a Group-level Chief Technologist at China Telecom, where she leads strategic research on next-generation ICT, driving the evolution of intelligent mobile infrastructure. Her work spans from foundational innovation to pilot deployments.
Previously, Dr Wang held technology and senior leadership roles in the US and UK at Philips, Toshiba, NVIDIA and Samsung. At Samsung Research UK, she served as Head of 6G Research and later as Head of the Advanced Network Research Lab, where she built and led high-impact research teams in AI-native networking and 6G technologies, and led large-scale European research programmes involving 19+ European companies and research institutes.
Dr Wang serves on the Board of Directors of the O-RAN Alliance and is internationally recognised for pioneering AI-native telecommunications networks. She chaired the UK Telecom Innovation Network (UKTIN) AI Expert Working Group, leading a national expert programme that shaped strategic and technical recommendations for the UK’s future capabilities in Telecom AI. She also played a founding role in ETSI’s Experiential Network Intelligence (ENI) standards development. Her leadership and impact have been recognised through multiple honours, including being named a Global Leader in 6G Research and Telecom Innovation by Network X (2024), the Cambridge Wireless Outstanding Woman Engineer of the Year Award (2020), and the ETSI ENI ISG Extraordinary Award (2019).
