Forward Together: GSMA Tower Forum Roundtable

Driven by the ongoing delayering of the mobile industry the GSMA Tower Forum convenes towercos, vendors and mobile network operators to improve neutral host models for the next service era. Over the last decade, towerco ownership surged from 50% to 72% penetration, unlocking over $100bn of capital, speeding deployment, reducing opex, and the cost to consumers. 

During this roundtable, attendees will learn about the closer engagement between telcos and towerco’s at an infrastructure and service level. Expanding the variety of tenancy options and energy sourcing models – particularly for renewables – will be a focus. At an industry level, the scope and priorities of the GSMA’s Tower Forum, review the proposed terms of reference, validate priority work streams, and signal their commitment to move forward. The roundtable marks the transition from consultation to action. 

The principal focus will be energy and feature the Tower Forum’s first substantial workstream output, GSMA Intelligence’s Energy Benchmarking Report.
